Hosting

Hosting is the server that runs the website and keeps it reachable at all times, with its backups, security certificate and updates. In Kern4Good it is included the first year, then pooled at 75 EUR per month per association.

What it includes

  • A server and its monitoring
  • Daily backups
  • The SSL certificate (the padlock in the browser)
  • The CMS security updates
  • Support in case of failure

Why pool it

One server for five websites costs barely more than one server for one website. The program shares the infrastructure between the associations of a cohort: costs are divided, performance stays that of professional hosting.

In Kern4Good

First year included in the website. Then 75 EUR per month per association, against 100 to 150 EUR observed for a single website. The association can also host its website elsewhere: the code belongs to it.

What happens if we stop the hosting?

The website is handed to you (code and content) to be hosted elsewhere. Nothing is locked.

Is the hosting in Belgium?

The program's servers are with a European host. Data stays in the European Union, which simplifies the GDPR.
