Pricing

Our pricing, at cost

No margin, no commission: the price covers the working days and hosting. A sponsored cohort at 0 EUR, then four website tiers depending on your need, from 1 200 to 8 000 EUR, reserved to associations: 3, 6, 10 or 20 days at 400 €. All amounts excl. VAT.

No budget

The sponsored cohort

Sponsor companies fund the solidarity pool. Your association pays nothing; in return, it relays the campaign and cites its sponsors. The website is the one of the Source Hub cohort: five pages and a blog.

  • 5-page showcase website + blog, on Wagtail, design of your association's own
  • Shared training, hosting and maintenance included the first year
  • Selection on the societal goal and the need, not on the budget
  • One cohort at a time: register, the waiting list is honest
  • No guarantee of date or delivery: everything depends on the companies that respond, websites start in the order of the funding raised

The Source Hub partner cohort (group purchase, five associations gathered) has its own conditions: see the Source Hub offer (in French).

The website ladder

Four tiers, one need per tier

The price of a website is days of work. At each tier, what you really buy: the depth of the website, your team's autonomy, the time spent with you. Ladder reserved to recognised Belgian associations (ASBL, public utility foundations, AISBL).

The Kern4Good tiers are at cost, without margin: 3, 6, 10 or 20 days at 400 € (see below). Every price is a "from": a project can sit between two tiers, the quote states the days. Every offer includes the technical base of search visibility; what comes next is explained below.

Who this ladder is for

Kern4Good is made for associations that need a normal website. A large foundation or a federation with hundreds of pages and several teams does not fit in it, and it is not a matter of budget: it is a matter of risk and responsibilities. The guide Website levels explains the six levels.

In the ladder

  • An association that needs a normal website, from the single page to the complete website
  • A team of one to three referents who publish and validate
  • Public pages, news, a calendar, a simple directory, up to a few languages
  • A contact, membership or donation form
  • An existing website to migrate, with its content and its redirects

Outside the ladder, on quote

  • A high-content website whose acquired ranking must be preserved: heavy migration, several hundred pages, a transition period to watch
  • Several teams, several countries or entities that validate
  • A platform: rich directory, map, e-learning, donations with integrated payment and receipts, integrations with other tools
  • Any private area (members, volunteers, extranet): accounts and personal data, hence GDPR, security, recurring maintenance and a shared responsibility, written down before starting

These projects are run at KERN-IT's agency rate, or elsewhere, and we say so at the first conversation.

At cost

400 € excl. VAT per day of work

That is what one day of the team costs KERN-IT: salary and charges, tools, training, infrastructure, R&D. At KernWeb's agency rate, the same day is invoiced 600 €. The difference, one third, is the margin Kern4Good does not take.

How a tier is calculated

  • Days of work × 400 €, plus hosting for the first year
  • The small tiers fit in few days thanks to the Kern4Good base and to AI
  • In a cohort, workshops, training and the foundation are shared between five associations
  • The quote states the days and what they cover; an extra module is extra days, quoted beforehand

What is not in the price

  • No margin, no sales costs: KERN-IT carries them
  • Offered: the first conversation, the check of aids, the cohort follow-up
  • Extra, on quote: writing your content, modules, long-term search visibility

The solidarity pool pays the same days

  • The sponsors' packs go in full to the cohort's solidarity pool
  • KERN-IT invoices its days to it at 400 €, as it would to an association
  • The end-of-cohort report shows the days of each website

Where Kern4Good stands

Day rates observed in Belgium for web work, excluding beginner freelancers. At cost is not the lowest price on the market: it is the price of an agency team (designer, developer, project manager) without the agency margin.

  • 400 € Kern4Good, at cost: the real cost of one day of the KERN-IT team, without margin
  • 600 € KernWeb, the web hub of KERN-IT, at agency rate: the same team and the same work, with the agency margin (12 000 € for a Business website of about 20 days)
  • 500 to 700 € Confirmed web freelancer (Creative Shelter, Belgian creative sector: just under 500 €; UNIZO: 50 to 90 € an hour, 70 on average, about 560 € a day; dailyrate.be, 905 rates, March 2026: median 700 €, mostly IT profiles in companies)
  • 640 to 1 000 € Established web agency (OneMorePixel, November 2025: "400 to 1 200 € per day"; Blue Pixel, June 2025: "800 to 1 000 € or more per day")

Pages consulted on 19 September 2026: dailyrate.be, Freelancers in Belgium, Blue Pixel (in French), OneMorePixel (in French). Rates move: look at the date of each page.

What the budget changes

Two quotes for "the same website" can vary from 1 to 10.

The price of a website is days of work and trades around your project. Slide the cursor: at each tier, what you really buy, up to the large institutional website, on quote at the same day rate.

4 000 €excl. VAT

10 days of workA designer, a developer, a training for your team.

  • Depth of the website
  • Finish
  • Team autonomy
  • Time spent with you
  • Speed to go live

The small editable website. Wagtail, three or four page templates, a blog, a half-day training. Ten days of work, on a closed scope.

Search visibility

Search visibility is not a task

Every offer, from 1 200 EUR, makes the website readable by Google and by AI engines. Being found on the queries that matter to you is regular work, counted in days per month, on your side or ours.

Included in all our offers

  • Clean structure, one page per topic, hierarchical headings
  • Title and description per page, written for search
  • Sitemap, robots.txt, HTTPS, redirects from the old website
  • Performance and mobile display measured
  • Schema.org structured data and an llms.txt file for AI engines

With that, the website is indexed within days and found on your name. That is the foundation, it is done once.

What makes the difference, and takes time

  • A content strategy: your publics' questions, in their words, in their municipality
  • Regular writing: one page per lasting question, updated when the answer changes
  • Links from other websites: municipality, federation, partners, sector directories
  • Advanced optimisation and a monthly follow-up in Search Console
  • Optimisation for AI engines (GEO): short answers at the top of the page, dated facts, sources

Count a few days a month, two to four depending on ambition, whether the association's team provides them or the technical team does. Results show in three to six months. The guide Getting your association's website found details this plan over twelve months.

Hosting and maintenance

Included the first year on editable websites. Then 75 € per month per association, pooled (against 100 to 150 € observed for a single website). The code belongs to you: you can host elsewhere. Static websites cost less: quoted in the offer.

Modules and templates

Calendar, membership form, donation button to a payment platform, simple directory: from 250 €, quoted before commitment. Nothing is added without a quote.

Consulting and search visibility

On quote, at cost: management tools, CRM, AI, training, search visibility support. A free first conversation, then a quote that states the days and what they cover.

Other developments

Integrations, custom tools, portals: KERN-IT's agency rates with 10% off for associations, on quote.

Why these prices

Kern4Good is the impact hub of KERN-IT, not a profit centre. At cost means one day of work at 400 € excl. VAT (against 600 € at the agency rate), multiplied by the number of days the website requires, plus hosting. It is below the market because KERN-IT takes no margin, because the small tiers rely on a Kern4Good base and on AI, and because cohorts pool the foundation, the workshops and the training between five associations.

Each tier matches a need, not a range: a launch website at 1 200 EUR is a real website, without editor; a complete website at 8 000 EUR is the agency's Business website, an investment for ten years. The guide Redoing your association's website helps to choose.

Regional aids (Prime Digitalisation in Brussels, Walloon and Flemish schemes) can reduce what remains to pay depending on your association's eligibility. We check it with you: the guide Grants and digital aids for Belgian non-profits explains how.

Questions about pricing

What does "at cost" mean here?

One day of work at 400 EUR excl. VAT, what it costs KERN-IT (salary and charges, tools, training, infrastructure, R&D), against 600 EUR at the agency rate. Each tier is a number of days at that rate, plus hosting, with no margin or commission; prices are "from", a project can sit between two tiers and the quote states the days. Cohorts also pool the foundation, the workshops and the training.

How much does consulting cost?

At the same 400 EUR excl. VAT day as the websites, on quote, after a free first conversation. We do not publish a fixed price because the scope changes from one association to another: the quote states the days, what they cover and what stays with you.

Are there costs after the first year?

Pooled hosting and maintenance: 75 EUR per month per association, against 100 to 150 EUR observed for a single website. The domain name stays with you (a few euros a year). Nothing else, except the modules you ask for, quoted before commitment.

Which tier for our association?

Two questions are enough. Will you publish yourself every week? If not, a static website (1 200 or 2 400 EUR) is enough and costs less to maintain. Do you have a lot of existing content, several languages or modules (calendar, membership, directory)? If so, the complete website at 8 000 EUR, or the Source Hub partner cohort if five associations gather. The first conversation is there to decide honestly, and we say when the tier below is enough.

Is search visibility included?

The technical base, yes, in every offer from 1 200 EUR: structure, titles and descriptions, sitemap, performance, mobile, structured data, llms.txt. Being found on the queries that matter to you then requires regular work (content, links, follow-up, optimisation for AI engines), a few days a month, on your side or as at-cost support. It is not a task in the quote, and we say so beforehand.

How much does a day of freelance or agency work cost in Belgium?

For web work, excluding beginners: a confirmed web freelancer charges 500 to 700 EUR a day (UNIZO: 70 EUR an hour on average; Belgian median 700 EUR on dailyrate.be, 905 rates in March 2026), an established agency 640 to 1 000 EUR. KernWeb, the web hub of KERN-IT, is at 600 EUR; Kern4Good at 400 EUR, the cost price. The sources are on this page, with their date.

Why 400 EUR and not less?

Because that is what one day of the team costs KERN-IT: salary and charges, tools, training, infrastructure, R&D. Below that, it would take volunteers or beginners without supervision, and the programme would not last. At cost is not the lowest price on the market: it is the price of an agency team without the agency margin.

Is a freelancer at 500 EUR a day cheaper than Kern4Good?

Not on the day rate, and rarely on the final price. Compare the days and what they contain: a Kern4Good tier includes a designer, a developer and a project manager, a foundation already built, hosting for the first year and a training. A single freelancer often needs more days to cover the same trades. The right comparison is the final price and what is included, not the day rate.

Why do agencies charge 640 to 1 000 EUR a day?

Because an agency carries a margin, sales costs, project management, offices and a guarantee. Kern4Good charges neither margin nor sales costs; KERN-IT carries the rest. That is what explains the gap, and that is what the end-of-cohort report shows, day by day.

Our organisation has hundreds of pages and several teams, which tier?

None of the ladder, and it is not the page count as such: it is what it implies. An acquired ranking to preserve page by page, redirects, several teams or countries validating, team trainings, a transition period where every mistake costs visits. Kern4Good is made for associations that need a normal website; a project of that size is an agency project, at KERN-IT at the agency rate or elsewhere, and we say so at the first conversation. The guide Website levels explains why.

We want a members' area, which tier is it in?

In none. As soon as there are accounts and people's data, the website changes category: GDPR (you are the data controller, we are the processor, with a contract), continuous security, recurring maintenance, and a shared responsibility, written down before starting. The private area is quoted separately, with the recurring cost. A ten-page public website with a members' area costs more than a fifty-page public website without one.

Why four price tiers?

Because the need changes from one association to another. A launch website at 1 200 EUR (three days: a few pages generated with AI, no editor) serves an association that is starting; a complete website at 8 000 EUR (twenty days: multilingual, eight templates, modules) serves an established association. In between, the complete static website at 2 400 EUR (six days) and the small editable website at 4 000 EUR (ten days). The sponsored cohort stays at 0 for the association, and the Source Hub partner cohort has its own conditions.
