KERN4GOOD 2.0

Building websites for those who change lives

A solidarity program where companies finance and sponsor digital solutions for dedicated Belgian associations. Kern4Good is the impact hub of KERN-IT: digital at cost for associations, funded by social sponsoring.

Members of an association applauding during a meeting

If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together: this is what digital solidarity is all about.

A solidarity program to amplify social impact

Kern4Good is a solidarity program by KERN-IT, our Belgian software engineering agency, whose web hub is KernWeb. We believe that technology only holds value when it serves humanity.

Social mission

Technology only holds value when it serves humanity and social progress. This conviction is the cornerstone behind everything we do.

By cohorts

We ensure a rigorous selection of committed Belgian associations, working in cohorts to provide structured, high-quality support.

Zero margin

KERN-IT builds these websites with zero profit margin, charging only the direct costs. This ensures total financial transparency.

Collective impact

Our success is built on a synergy of forces between companies (sponsors), non-profits (beneficiaries), and KERN-IT (technical operator).

Digital, not only websites

The program tackles the digital divide on the associations' side. It starts with what it can deliver today, and says what comes next.

The solidarity fund

Kern4Good operates through cohorts of selected non-profits. KERN-IT develops these websites at cost, with zero profit margin.

Companies fund the cohort through a transparent sponsorship system. Small non-profits are at the heart of the program: they can contribute according to their means, with no obligation or minimum requirement.

Our cohorts

Three cohorts, one per situation

A cohort is five associations moving forward together. This year's is funded by sponsors, Source Hub's is brought by a partner, and yours exists as soon as you bring five associations or fund it.

F.A.Q

Who is leading this initiative?

The program is led by KERN-IT, a Belgian software engineering agency, whose web hub is KernWeb. Through this program, KERN-IT puts its expertise at the service of social impact.

How is the money spent?

This is a zero-margin model. KERN-IT works at cost for non-profit projects. Funding is provided by a "solidarity funding pool" fueled by corporate sponsors.

Why become a Kern4Good partner?

Supporting this program allows your company to:

  • Demonstrate an authentic, concrete, and rewarding social impact.
  • Benefit from positive and credible visibility.
  • Make a tangible and measurable impact on the local community.
What are the available contribution packs?

There are five packs to support the current cohort:

  • Friend: 500 €, for freelancers and small structures (name cited, no logo on the associations' websites).
  • Supporter: 1 000 €.
  • Partner: 2 500 €.
  • Impact: 5 000 €.
  • Association Sponsor: 10 000 €.

You can also contribute according to your means by contacting us directly.

How is financial transparency guaranteed?

The program guarantees total transparency: the cohort's sponsors are shown on the website, and a final report details the use of every euro, website by website.

What type of association can apply?

Kern4Good welcomes small and medium-sized associations looking to improve their digital visibility.

Associations must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a recognized Belgian non-profit.
  • Pursue a clear societal goal, demonstrating a significant impact on the community or the environment. This includes, but is not limited to, actions aimed at fighting poverty, promoting education, supporting the environment, animal welfare, environmental protection, fighting harassment and inequality, or improving public health.
  • Have a proven need for a website (redesign of an existing site or creation of a new one).
  • Preferably have at least 1 to 3 years of continuous activity.
How much does it cost for the association?

The program is designed to be accessible and to remove financial barriers. There is no minimum financial contribution required to participate.

Is the sponsored cohort guaranteed?

No. It depends entirely on the companies that respond and the funding raised. A selected association is registered; its website starts when its funding is there, with no promised date. If sponsors are lacking, it stays at the head of the list for what comes next, or chooses a tier of the at-cost website ladder.
